Darnell Autry Durrah Jr., PhD
Licensed Psychologist | Consultant | Speaker
My work is grounded in a simple belief: understanding people is essential to helping them navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and lead meaningful lives.
I am Dr. Darnell A. Durrah Jr., a licensed psychologist, military behavioral health leader, and consultant with nearly two decades of experience working with individuals, families, professionals, and organizations.
Originally from Compton, California, my journey has taken me through higher education, military service, clinical practice, and executive leadership. Each chapter has shaped my perspective on resilience, responsibility, human connection, and the complexities of personal and professional growth.
Experience & Expertise
Throughout my career, I have served in clinical and senior leadership positions, overseeing behavioral health services, advising organizational leaders, and supporting individuals navigating some of life’s most demanding circumstances.
My professional background includes psychological treatment and assessment, trauma-informed care, organizational consultation, leadership development, and behavioral health program oversight.
This breadth of experience allows me to approach psychological health and organizational effectiveness with both clinical insight and a practical understanding of leadership.
A Personal Perspective
Beyond my professional responsibilities, I am a husband, father, and someone who understands that personal growth rarely follows a straight path.
My experiences have reinforced the importance of being present, maintaining meaningful relationships, embracing accountability, and recognizing that success is about more than professional achievement.
These perspectives influence how I engage with clients, collaborate with organizations, and approach conversations about men’s mental health, relationships, fatherhood, and leadership.
My Work Today
Through Durrah Psychological Consulting, PLLC, I provide psychological services, assessments, consultation, and professional development designed to support individuals and organizations.
I also engage in speaking and educational opportunities that bring psychology into everyday conversations about leadership, resilience, relationships, and personal growth.
Whether working with an individual seeking clarity, a leader navigating complex responsibilities, or an organization investing in its people, my commitment remains the same: thoughtful engagement, sound psychological principles, and meaningful outcomes.
I welcome opportunities to connect, collaborate, and contribute.
