Over two years ago, I had an opportunity to be a guest on a podcast hosted by a former student (Karmella G & her co-host Fatima, and Ava on the controls). At that time, I was an adjunct professor at a Historical Black College and University (HBCU) in Central Texas. It was a lifetime opportunity at the time, and I truly miss it. I miss being around students who have a desire to learn, grow, and even challenge the thought of mainstream science. That was truly what this student was. So, I was humbled when she asked for me to be a guest on her podcast.
Over the course of our conversation, we discussed a range of topics specific to the black male population. After reviewing it again recently, I truly believe it is not only applicable to black males but all males. A few major takeaways from reviewing this eposide were:
1. The importance of males having accountability with other males. How do we normalize reaching out regularly?
2. Self-awareness of our internal thoughts/emotions is important. However, how do we foster a conversation to learn how to do this?
3. As people, we are so focused on our differences as opposed to what makes us stronger. What if we decided to focus on our similarities?
Again, I truly enjoyed this episode and look forward to doing a follow-up.

I welcome your feedback and be sure to like and subscribe to the youtube channel.
